About the World Ju-Jitsu
Federation
The World Ju Jitsu Federation was founded in 1976 and it now has more than
42 countries in membership.
The Federation's national affiliates are the governing bodies for that martial art in several countries ; in Britain , the Federation helped found the British Ju Jitsu Association which ,
in turn , was a founder member of the British Martial Arts Commission.
The Commission is the watchdog of good martial arts practice Nationally and Internationally.
It is recognised by both the Sports Council and the Central Council for Sports Physical Recreation.
The World Ju Jitsu Federation was formed to promote the study of Ju Jitsu ,
as well as to organise , control and develop the art in Britain and throughout the world .
With these objectives in mind , the Federation holds national and international courses in Ju Jitsu technique , and it also promotes the proper and effective coaching of the art.
Membership is open to any club or group of clubs practicing Ju Jitsu to a standard
approved by the Federation's International Coach ,
Professor Robert Clark 9th Dan .
The Federation and affiliated Clubs do not discriminate on the grounds of style
and welcomes affiliation from both traditional and modern schools .
The Federation also welcomes applications from individual students of the art
without asking for full affiliation.
